Frequently Asked Questions

Are there bathrooms in the cabins?

1

Our cabins are what locals refer to as “damp cabins” here in Alaska. What that means is that we do not have bathrooms in our cabins but we do have sinks plumbed into french drains for each of our cabins. Thats where you’ll get your water for drinking, cooking, and rinsing dishes. Our beautiful bathrooms are a few steps away from your cabin in our bathhouse.

TLDR; No bathrooms in cabins - two beautiful shared bathrooms a few steps away in the bathhouse!

How many people can stay in the cabins?

2

We limit our cabins to three (3) people per cabin. Each cabin is furnished with a queen bed and a full size futon. We find the most comfortable stays are those with two people as these are small, rustic cabins. That being said, we’ve had plenty of happy guests with two adults and one child, a couple and a friend, or three close friends who are happy to share a bed and futon between them.

Is there wifi on property?

3

We have excellent wifi on property. We’ve had remote workers stay and work happily from all three of our cabins and from the Sockeye Suite.

How close are you to Talkeetna’s restaurants, bars, and sites?

4

We’re two blocks away from Talkeetna’s main street. That means you’re walking distance from the Historic Fairview Inn, Denali Brewing Company, Mountain High Pizza Pie, not to mention Talkeetna, Susitna, and Chulitna rivers and incredible views of Denali.

How do I check in?

5

Every unit has a smart lock. We’ll send you your own door code before you arrive, so you can let yourself in whenever you get to town.

Is there parking?

6

Yes, each cabin comes with two free parking spaces on the property.

Can I bring my dog/pet?

7

We love dogs, but we’re not able to allow pets in the cabins at this time.

Do the cabins have a kitchen?

8

Each cabin has a kitchenette with electric stovetops, a refrigerator (with small freezer), an electric tea kettle, and a pour-over setup with locally roasted Dead Hopper coffee. The Studio Cabin has an oven as well. The Sockeye suite has a full kitchen with full-sized appliances including an oven and microwave.

Are the cabins good for families with kids?

9

They can be! Each sleeps up to three with a queen bed and a futon. Just keep in mind that the Mannix and Caribou cabins have lofted queen beds reached by a ladder and the shared bathhouse is a few steps away from each cabin. If that works for you and your little ones, we’d love to have you!

Can we rent the whole property?

10

Absolutely. Reach out with your dates and we’ll quote the whole property for your group!
